HHBT-01 Hydrogen Gas Analyzer is designed for the clinic application of Hydrogen breath test. For human beings, only bacteria-specifically, anaerobic bacteria in the colon--are capable of producing hydrogen. The bacteria produce hydrogen when they are exposed to the unabsorbed food, particularly sugar and carbohydrates. Hydrogen is then exhaled by the lungs with normal breathing.

The breath hydrogen test can identify the following symptoms:

1.        Carbohydrate malabsorption

2.        Bacterial overgrowth in the intestine

3.        Gastrointestinal obstruction - retention of intestinal contents

4.        The mucosal integrality of small intestine

5.        Disorder of gastric emptying

6.        Impaired production of acid by the stomach - reduced defense against ingested bacteria

Operation Sequence

1. Install the battery (PP3)

2. Connect the dryer and breath tube to the mainframe.

3. Turn the apparatus on, then LCD will display 88.8. After several seconds, it will show 000 automatically.

4. Breathe into the tube as long as possible (control the flux about 250ml/min). It permits breath several times until the number does not increase anymore on the LCD screen (about 70 seconds). Record the result.

5. Turn the apparatus off. Remove the dryer and breath tube from the mainframe. (Make sure to wait more than 3_min to have the next test)
